Novelist, Kathleen Mix will be at Simple Pleasures on Saturday June 27th from 1-4 pm to sign copies of her romantic suspense novels, “Secret Stranger”, “Deadly Paradise” and “A Trade Wind Season”.
Kathleen was born and raised in Conneticut. She earned her B.S in Computer Science and Enginnering from the University of Connecticut, working as a software engineer.
Always an avid sailor, she and her husband spent their weekends and vacations sailing Long Island Sound with their sons.
When her children went off to college, Kathleen and her husband sold their house and furniture and moved onto their sailboat. Since then they have spent many years roaming the Southern U.S. coastline, exploring the Bahamas, and enjoying the tropical islands of the Caribbean and the offshore islands of South America.
They have cruised as far north as Gloucester, Massachusetts and as far south as Puerto La Cruz, Venezuela, east to Trinidad and Tobago, and west to Curacao. For some time they made Florida their “home” port, but after surviving several hurricanes they decided to make the Virginia waters of the Chesapeake their home.
Kathleen’s first ventures into writing were non-fiction articles on sailing, but the romance and mystery of the islands she explored on her journeys inspired her to turn her pen to fiction.
Come to Simple Pleasures on June 27 to meet Kathleen Mix, hear about her travels, and the novels – full of romance and suspense- they inspired.
